Job summary

Columbus Oncology and Hematology is seeking a PA or NP to join its inpatient hospital rounding service. The APP will work within a collaborative team of physicians, APPs, and specialists managing oncology/hematology patients in the Columbus, OH area.

New hires will build toward managing a panel of ~10 patients, rounding as a consult service for admitted hematology/oncology patients, and coordinating discharges.

Qualifications

• Performs and documents history and physical exams, analyzes clinical data and formulates assessments and plans in the EMR.
• Rounding on a cohort of patients in an inpatient APP-forward model with physician support.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• Rounding on ~10 patients as part of inpatient APP service.
• Serve as inpatient consultant for hematology/oncology patients.
• Coordinate discharges and transition planning.
• Provide high-level assessment and symptom management for patients undergoing cancer treatment.
• Communicate plans of care with patients, families, nurses, and other stakeholders.
• Lead and collaborate within a multidisciplinary care team.
