Job summary

Indiana Regional Medical Center, Inc. is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate referred patients, design goals, and implement therapy to improve daily living skills and independence.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team, document progress in the EHR, and contribute to discharge planning while ensuring regulatory compliance and patient safety.

This role emphasizes mentorship of students and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy is required.
• 1+ year of inpatient hospital or rehabilitation experience preferred.
• PA OT licensure required; BLS certification required within 1 month of hire; PA driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients referred for occupational therapy using standardized assessments and clinical judgment.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings and patient goals.
• Implement therapeutic interventions to improve ADLs, fine motor skills, cognitive functioning, and overall independence.
• Provide caregiver education and recommend appropriate adaptive equipment and home modifications.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, nurses, physicians, and social workers.
• Document all assessments, plans, treatments, and progress notes accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure appropriate follow-up care, home safety, and community resources.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory and professional standards (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission, AOTA).
• Support student education and mentorship as appropriate.
