Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plans and carries out programs of occupational therapy for individuals based on physician evaluation to facilitate rehabilitation.
• Evaluates patients’ functional abilities and disabilities through tests, observation, and input from family, staff and physicians.
• Plans treatment programs including exercise, self-care, home management, and vocational skills to improve functioning.
• Educates patients and families in self-care, home modification, therapeutic exercise, and use of equipment.
• Communicates with the hospital team about patient progress and discharge barriers.
• Maintains patient and department records.
• Keeps current with field developments by reading and attending seminars.
• Other duties as assigned.
