Qualifications

• Graduate of an occupational therapy educational program approved by an accrediting body (ACOTE or equivalent).
• Licensed as an Occupational Therapist by the South Carolina Board; CPR certification required.
• No minimum years of experience specified; entry is possible with proper licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct occupational therapy patient care upon physician referral.
• Demonstrates age-specific competence for infant to geriatric populations.
• Evaluates patients using occupational therapy tests and measurements.
• Develops and monitors treatment plans; administers interventions.
• Maintains accurate treatment documentation and discharge summaries.
• Educates patients and families on home programs; participates in discharge planning.
