Job summary

UNC Health Care Hillsborough Campus is seeking a Nursing Assistant I to join a 36-hour-per-week inpatient Medicine unit. You will provide routine direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician, including basic monitoring and daily living activities.

The role emphasizes excellent communication, patient safety, and teamwork in a 25-bed inpatient setting serving geriatric and complex discharge patients.

Qualifications

• Fluent in verbal and written English language.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Six months of nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Nursing Assistant I licensure and BLS certification are required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures.
• In psychiatric settings, aid patients in reality orientation and participate in behavior modification plans.
• Observe, collect, and document patient information and report significant changes to a supervisor.
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
