Job summary

UC San Diego Health in San Diego seeks Physician Assistants to deliver inpatient neurosurgical care across Jacobs Medical Center and Hillcrest Medical Center, with coverage across UCSD Health sites as needed.

Under supervision, the PA provides high-quality, evidence-based care to patients with complex neurosurgical conditions, collaborating with attending neurosurgeons, residents, nurses, and a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an ARC-PA approved physician assistant program.
• California PA license and NCCPA certification required.
• BLS and ACLS at hire with plan to obtain ART within six months.
• Minimum two years of licensed PA experience, inpatient neurology and acute care.
• Strong writing and communication skills for reports and care plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient neurosurgical care across ICU, IMU, and wards.
• Cover operating room cases and cross-coverage at multiple UCSD Health sites.
• Perform clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate discharges.
• Collaborate with neurosurgeons, residents, and multidisciplinary teams.
