Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL is seeking a Mental Health Worker Inpatient for the Emergency Department Behavioral Health Pods. Under RN supervision, you will assist licensed staff, provide basic nursing care to adult and geriatric patients, and help maintain a safe, clean environment while communicating patient information to the supervising RN.

The role is Full Time with Night shifts (7pm-7:30am). Sign-On Bonus available.

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid CNA license issued by the state; if not a CNA, at least 1 year of mental health worker hospital experience.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire and to maintain current.
• One year of prior mental health experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under direction of the RN, assist licensed staff in patient care and document activities of daily living.
• Support unit functions, maintain a safe and clean environment, and communicate pertinent patient information to nurses.
• Perform clerical duties as assigned and provide basic nursing care for adult and geriatric patients.
