Job summary

The Tulsa Center Behavioral Health (TCBH), a state psychiatric hospital in Tulsa, is hiring a Transporter (Mental Health Technician) to transport consumers and provide non-professional direct care in an inpatient setting.

Primary hours are Monday-Friday, 10:00am-6:30pm, with the position open from 10/22/2026 to 10/29/2026. The role is full-time, non-exempt, and requires an OSBI background check and a valid driver’s license, along with physical lifting requirements.

Qualifications

• MHT I – No experience required.
• Applicants must be able to pass an OSBI background check.
• Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.
• Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Primary duty is transportation of consumers.
• Secondary duties include non-professional direct care for consumers in an inpatient setting.
• Participation in de-escalation activities and ensuring consumer safety.
