The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Mental Health, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse II for the Dr. John C. Corrigan Mental Health Center in Fall River.

The role supports a 16-bed acute inpatient unit, providing direct nursing care, teaching, and coordination of patient health and safety needs. The position is 40 hours weekly on the 2nd shift (2:45 p.m. – 11:15 p.m.) with rotating weekends; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• At least one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience as a registered nurse in a hospital, clinic or medical facility.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with severe mental illness using the nursing process.
• Assess health status and document related data; administer nursing treatments as ordered.
• Collaborate with pharmacy to administer and document medications and treatments.
• Assist in admission, discharge, and transfer for continuity of care.
• Develop initial nursing care plans to meet acute health and safety needs.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and goal setting.
• Supervise and evaluate nursing staff on the unit.
• Document medications and prevent errors; monitor responses to medications.
• Educate patients and families on medications and health issues; document in medical records.
• Respond to medical and psychiatric emergencies; follow DMH protocols for restraints when necessary.
