Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health specialist for the 3pm-11:30pm shift, 24 hours per week at Advocate South Suburban Hospital. The role supports inpatient mental health services, including therapy monitoring, admissions/discharges, and safety checks, with BLS and a psychology-related degree required.

Three 8-hour shifts with weekend rotation and holidays. Benefits eligible; base compensation falls within posted range.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Sociology or related field; two years experience.
• Good communication, organization and time management; computer literacy.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient mental health services with the goal of patient recovery.
• Monitor individual, group and family therapies.
• Assist with admission and discharge process.
• Provide mental health assessments, counseling, referrals and intervention services.
• Complete and maintain documentation in a timely and accurate manner per federal, state and AAH guidelines.
• Perform patient belongings check, safety check and unit tours for new patients.
• Provide milieu management to ensure a safe, ligature-free environment.
• Assist clinical staff in measuring patient vitals, blood sugar and ADLs.
