Job summary

TaraVista Behavioral Health in Devens, Massachusetts, is hiring a Mental Health Counselor for the inpatient child program on 32-hour evening shifts. You will provide direct care, support families, and work with a multidisciplinary team to maintain a safe therapeutic milieu.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, plus experience as PCT/PCA/CNA or Medical Assistant, with a bachelor's in psychology or human services preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology or human services preferred.
• Previous PCT/PCA, CNA or Medical Assistant experience required.
• Effective oral and written communication; professional boundaries.
• Experience in psychiatric or substance inpatient settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient observation and rounds.
• Assist staff with patient care while following treatment plans.
• Observe and monitor patient progress and report observations to staff.
• Develop a therapeutic relationship with patients while maintaining boundaries.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living as needed.
• Provide supervision of patients’ activities.
• Responsible for safety monitoring of patients on the unit.
• Process admissions belongings.
• Complete documentation in the EMR system.
• Work collaboratively with the Interdisciplinary Team

Education

Bachelor's degree in psychology or human services
