Job summary

Sutter Health’s Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Berkeley seeks a Mental Health Worker to support inpatient psychiatric care. You will gather observational data, provide direct patient care, and implement therapeutic interventions under supervision to maintain a safe therapeutic environment.

The role requires strong de-escalation skills, and a commitment to supporting patients through admissions and discharges, with an evening shift and a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of the required degree.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 12 months of experience in a behavioral health care setting.
• Must possess effective interpersonal skills.
• Must have a functional knowledge of psychiatric terminology.

Responsibilities

• Gather and report observational data under supervision.
• Provide direct patient care to assigned patients on inpatient services.
• Implement therapeutic interventions and emotional support for patients.
• Assist the RN in maintaining a safe therapeutic environment and processing admissions/discharges.
