Job summary

Saint Clare's Health, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks a Mental Health Associate - Inpatient in New Jersey. Under supervision, assist licensed nursing staff with patient care, participate in group therapy and counseling, and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients of all ages.

Night shift, full-time position with competitive benefits. A Bachelor’s degree is required; BCLS certification and Behavioral Violence Prevention within specified timelines are required or maintained

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Current BCLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Behavioral Violence Prevention within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually.
• One year prior mental health experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mental Health Associate - Inpatient: assist licensed nursing staff in patient care including activities of daily living.
• Perform group therapy, one-on-one counseling, or crisis intervention.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and communicate pertinent patient information to supervising staff.
• Perform clerical duties as assigned and provide basic nursing care for diverse patient populations.
