Job summary

Performs reception and clerical duties to support unit efficiency. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification (CNA/EMT/MA preferred), and 1–2 years of hospital or nursing home experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Provides direct care under supervision
• Observes and reports patient status
• Performs EKGs and bladder scans as ordered
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information
• Attends mandatory education and safety training

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision
• Observe and report patient status and needs
• Perform competencies listed on validation form
• Identify patients using two identifiers
• Obtain specimens and transport as directed
• Communicate respectfully with patients and staff
• Update intake/output and vital signs in chart
• Record patient medical information and vital signs
• Answer call lights and address patient needs
• Perform hourly rounds addressing Pain, Potty, Positioning, Personal belongings, Pantry
• Perform EKGs as ordered
• Perform bladder scans as ordered
• Adhere to body mechanics and safety procedures
• Wear proper identification while on duty
