Qualifications

• Hold a current LPN/LVN license in the state where the hospital resides or compact licensure if state participates.
• Current BLS certification required; BLS cert must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment.
• Current IV Certification within 90 days of employment, if required per state regulations.
• One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients admitted to the nursing unit under the direction of the RN, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse.
• Provide direct patient care to medically complex and/or critically ill patients requiring extended hospitalization.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of medical professionals to carry out individualized care plans.
• Gather and report data.
• Carry out orders.
• Perform therapeutic procedures on patients in an age- and population-appropriate manner.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
