Job summary

Mercy Hospital in Durango, CO seeks a Hospitalist provider to join a physician-centric team on a 0.5–1.0 FTE basis. The role focuses on inpatient care with flexible inpatient shifts and collaboration with specialists, nurses, and the hospital staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate is board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, with licensure in Colorado and strong inpatient skills to support high-value care for acutely ill patients.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician.
• Candidate must hold a valid medical license in Colorado.

Responsibilities

• Attend interdisciplinary rounds and communicate with the care team.
• Provide admissions, daily inpatient rounds, diagnostic workups and discharge planning.
• Oversee the inpatient experience and coordinate with hospital staff and other physicians.
• Document patient information for care and billing purposes.
• Educate medical students, residents and other learners in graduate health education programs.
