Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide primary or specialty inpatient care within the Hematology/Oncology teams at Froedtert MCW/CFAC in Milwaukee, WI. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, perform histories, exams, orders, education, and EMR documentation to ensure high-quality patient care.

Ideal candidates have APRN or PA credentials, oncology exposure, and commitment to patient safety and research within an academic medical center

Qualifications

• Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant with oncology experience preferred.
• Eligible for Wisconsin APRN prescriber license or NCCPA certification.
• Current BLS/ACLS and hospital privileging requirements applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive histories and physical exams for oncology inpatients.
• Order, interpret labs and diagnostic tests; develop treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families on disease and treatment options.
• Document in EMR and manage care plans with the care team.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary staff.
• Provide on-site management for night shifts and acute needs.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
