Job summary

Inova Health System is seeking an Inpatient GI/Solid Tumor APP (NP/PA) to join the Inova Schar Cancer Institute. This full-time day-shift role supports inpatient solid tumor care, collaborates with oncologists and a multidisciplinary team, and emphasizes high-quality cancer care programs.

Qualified candidates have NP or PA credentials, BLS, and Virginia licensure or eligibility; two years of APP hematology/oncology experience is preferred. Sign-on and relocation assistance are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Nursing and Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice for NP path, or PA program graduate.
• BLS certification required at start.
• Virginia NP/PA licensure or eligibility; DEA licensure eligible.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe inpatient care for solid tumors, with emphasis on GI cancers.
• Collaborate with attending physicians on treatment plans and protocols.
• Perform assessments, order/interpret tests, prescribe meds and perform procedures as credentialed.
• Educate patients and families, coordinate care with multidisciplinary team.
• Engage in quality improvement and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Serve as a mentor to team and participate in quarterly weekend call (phone only).
