Job summary

Frederick Health Medical Group (FHMG) seeks an inpatient Gastroenterology Hospitalist to support its growing GI service line within a hospital-based practice model. The role emphasizes inpatient consults, high procedural volume, and a predictable block schedule without outpatient clinics.

The candidate will work with hospital medicine, surgeons, and ED teams, with modern endoscopy suites and dedicated GI labor.

Qualifications

• Board certification in gastroenterology is required or candidates must be eligible.
• MD/DO physician license in good standing with Maryland licensing authorities.
• Active DEA and Maryland CDS licenses.
• BLS certification.
• Unrestricted license with no disciplinary history.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient gastroenterology consultations.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP as appropriate).
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, surgeons, and ED staff to deliver high-quality care.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
