Mount Sinai Morningside seeks an exceptional Psychiatrist for its Inpatient Geriatric Psychiatry services. The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai offers a vibrant teaching environment with opportunities to participate in education, research, and clinical program development.

Qualifying candidates will be board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry, hold a NYS license, and have fellowship training in Geriatric Psychiatry. Strong collaborative and leadership skills are emphasized.

Mount Sinai Morningsideis seeking an exceptional and talented Psychiatrist for its Inpatient Geriatric Psychiatric services.

The Icahn School of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry is a vibrant community of clinicians, researchers, educators, and trainees committed to discovering the causes of, and better treatments for, mental illness and substance use disorders. We are ranked #6 nationally in NIH funding, and listed as one of the top regional hospital departments by U.S. News & World Report. The Mount Sinai Behavioral Health service line encompasses the clinical behavioral health services at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, Mount Sinai Hospital, Mount Sinai St. Luke’s, Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai Queens. We have over 350 inpatient behavioral health beds and 4 psychiatric emergency locations (CPEP/Psych ED), and had over 1 million ambulatory behavioral health visits in 2018.

Mount Sinai Behavioral Morningside campus serves as major teaching sites for the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Both sites also have innovative programs underway to connect patients to an array of community and crisis services supports. Some units specialize in sub-populations (i.e., geriatric). Opportunities to participate in these innovative service delivery and clinical care pilots are available at all sites. Icahn School of Medicine atMount Sinai faculty appointment commensurate with experience. Our compensation plan considers your years of experience post-residency as well as specialty and sub specialty board certifications. We offer a collegial environment in an expanding and growing department in the heart of upper Manhattan with an easy commute to a variety of areas in New York and New Jersey.

Qualifications
  • Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry
  • Possess NYS license to practice medicine
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry
  • Board Certification in Geriatric Psychiatry highly preferred
  • At least one-year post-residency experience in inpatient/emergency psychiatry services preferred
  • Excellent clinical knowledge and communication skills required
  • Outstanding teaching skills
  • Must possess highly collaborative and proactive approach, and demonstrate commitment to high-quality, cost-effective health care
  • A strong work ethic and desire to participate in and grow a team-oriented, performance-driven department
  • Qualifications for Assistant Professor or higher level required

Compensation range from255K to 295K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).
