Job summary

LocumTenens.com is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified psychiatrist for immediate, ongoing inpatient work at a state hospital in Kerrville, TX. The role covers 40 hours per week on a day shift, with on-site presence required at least 25% of the time for adult forensic patients (NGRI population).

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, manage about 24 patients per month, oversee 1–2 admissions/discharges monthly, and provide court documentation and testimony.

Qualifications

• Board certification negotiable.
• Inpatient psychiatric care for adults in a forensic state hospital.
• On-site presence required: at least 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Manage an average caseload of 24 patients seen monthly.
• Oversee 1–2 admissions and discharges per month.
• Handle court documentation and testimony.
• Participate in quality improvement projects including quarterly reviews.
• Attend medical staff meetings and collaborate with staff nurse practitioners.
