Job summary

Summa Health is seeking a board certified/eligible Hospice & Palliative Medicine physician to join a team of 10 physicians and 10 APPs. The role emphasizes inpatient care with potential for a mix of inpatient and outpatient duties.

Employed position offering competitive compensation, signing bonus, relocation assistance, and CME allowance; teaching opportunities exist in the HPM Fellowship Program and with residents and medical students.

Qualifications

• Board certification or eligibility in Hospice & Palliative Medicine.
• Fellowship trained in Hospice & Palliative Medicine.
• Current and unrestricted license in Ohio, or willingness to obtain.
• Demonstrated communication skills with patients, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient Hospice & Palliative Medicine care, with primary focus on inpatient units.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans.
• Engage in teaching opportunities within the HPM Fellowship Program and resident rotations.
• Maintain compliance with Summa Health policies and participate in program growth and quality initiatives.

Summa Health is seeking a board certified/board eligible Hospice & Palliative Medicine (HPM) physician to join our team of 10 Physicians and 10 Advanced Practice Providers. We are searching for a full-time provider with a primary interest in inpatient care, though we also welcome candidates interested in a combination of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.

Summa Health Medical Group is a subsidiary of Summa Health System, which is comprised of 2 hospitals and over 20 health centers, making it one of the largest integrated Healthcare Delivery Systems in the state. The medical group has nearly 700 unified, high performing providers aligned to create a healthier Northeastern Ohio community.

Opportunity Highlights

• Normal business hours Monday through Friday
• o Weekend Call averages 10 weekends/year
• o Night Call averages 3-4 nights/month
• Main Location at Akron Hospital Campus

Candidate Requirements

• Board Certified/Eligible in Hospice & Palliative Medicine
• Fellowship trained in Hospice & Palliative Medicine
• Current and unrestricted license in the State of Ohio, or willing to obtain
• Compassionate, caring demeanor with patients, families, and staff
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
