Job summary

Nampa Medical Center, part of Trinity Health, seeks an Inpatient Emergency Medicine Pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care in the ER and mentor future pharmacists. The role emphasizes rapid response to emergencies, evidence-based plans, and collaboration with the hospital care team.

Responsibilities include supervising technicians, preparing medications, and contributing to QA, safety, and department development. Idaho licensed pharmacists with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist licensure in Idaho required.
• Pharmacist with PharmD or BS in Pharmacy required; residency preferred.
• Inpatient and emergency medicine experience preferred.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Care for adults and pediatrics in the emergency department.
• Respond to time-sensitive emergencies with the care team.
• Review histories and implement evidence-based care plans.
• Prepare pharmaceutical products safely and cost-effectively.
• Support quality assurance and risk management.
• Participate in department development and staff supervision.

Summary

Provides pharmaceutical care to emergency room patients of Saint Alphonsus and mentors the next generation of pharmacists.

Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required. Residency preferred.
• Must be licensed as a Pharmacist with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy.
• Inpatient experience required, previous experience in emergency medicine preferred.
• Within 6 months of hire, ACLS certification from the American Heart Association is required
• Adaptable to institutional roles and schedules.

Hours

• The shifts are 10 hours for 8 on / 6 off rotation with 7 consecutive days in the Emergency Department. You will have outstanding opportunity to enhance your practice by providing significant emergency medicine coverage.

What you will do

• Demonstrate knowledge and skills to competently care for adults and pediatrics in the emergency department setting.
• Respond to time-sensitive emergencies with the care team throughout the hospital.
• Review patient histories and execute evidence-based care plans, including patient education, for optimal outcomes.
• Prepares pharmaceutical products for patients’ use by safe and cost-effective methods using acceptable professional standards.
• Comprehend and support quality assurance and risk management issues.
• Participate in emergency medicine pharmacy services development, various departmental duties, material resource management, safety, and other issues.
• Supervise technicians and pharmacy support staff.
