Job summary

Saint Alphonsus is seeking an Inpatient Emergency Medicine Pharmacist at Nampa Medical Center to provide pharmaceutical care for ER patients and mentor future pharmacists.

This role requires a PharmD or B.S. in Pharmacy with Idaho licensure, inpatient/ER experience, and ACLS certification within 6 months. It includes a 10-hour 8-on/6-off rotating shift, clinical duties, staff supervision, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required.
• Residency preferred.
• Must be licensed as a Pharmacist with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy.
• Inpatient experience required, emergency medicine experience preferred.
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Care for adults and pediatrics in the emergency department setting.
• Respond to time-sensitive emergencies with the care team throughout the hospital.
• Review patient histories and execute evidence-based care plans, including patient education.
• Prepare pharmaceutical products for patient use using safe and cost-effective methods.
• Support quality assurance and risk management issues.
• Participate in emergency medicine pharmacy services development and departmental duties.
• Supervise technicians and pharmacy support staff.

Summary

Provides pharmaceutical care to emergency room patients of Saint Alphonsus and mentors the next generation of pharmacists.

Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required. Residency preferred.
• Must be licensed as a Pharmacist with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy.
• Inpatient experience required, previous experience in emergency medicine preferred.
• Within 6 months of hire, ACLS certification from the American Heart Association is required
• Adaptable to institutional roles and schedules.

Hours

• The shifts are 10 hours for 8 on / 6 off rotation with 7 consecutive days in the Emergency Department. You will have outstanding opportunity to enhance your practice by providing significant emergency medicine coverage.

• Supervise technicians and pharmacy support staff.
