Job Description

Insight Global is looking to hire 2 remote Inpatient DRG Coding Specialists for a healthcare provider in the South Florida area. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Inpatient DRG Coding Specialist to join our Health Information Management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding inpatient medical records using ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and ensuring compliance with all applicable guidelines and regulations. This role is crucial in optimizing hospital reimbursement and supporting quality patient care.

Responsibilities Include
  • Review and analyze inpatient medical records to assign appropriate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes.
  • Ensure accurate DRG assignment and compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure coding accuracy and compliance.
  • Stay updated with changes in coding standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Participate in coding education and training sessions.
  • Assist in resolving coding-related issues and discrepancies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient health information.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
