Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital in Flint, MI is seeking a Registered Dietitian for a full-time role focused on inpatient nutrition care and MNT. You will collaborate with clinicians and food service to ensure nutrition plans are implemented according to standards.

The position emphasizes nutritional assessments, enteral/parenteral support, and coordination with therapy teams to advance patient intake and safety. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure/certification, if required by state.
• Current registration by the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
• One (+) year of work experience in a facility setting with clinical responsibilities or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality nutritional care to patients including development, implementation and monitoring of Medical Nutrition Therapies.
• Collaborate with medical staff, patients, families and food service to ensure nutrition care plans are implemented and standards are maintained.
• Perform nutritional assessments and re‑assessments, identifying goals and monitoring progress.
• Develop and monitor enteral and/or parenteral nutrition support regimens.
• Assist with progression of textured modified diets with Speech Therapy to ensure safety and intake.
• Clarify admission orders to ensure nutrition support and diet orders align with manuals.
• Consider religious, cultural, and ethnic factors in nutrition plan development.
• Educate staff on the Nutrition Care Manual and maintain manuals for downtime.
• Maintain licensure/portfolio and pursue continuing education to advance skills.
• Attend interdisciplinary meetings and participate in menu planning.
