Baystate Health in Springfield, MA is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join our Inpatient Team at Baystate Medical Center, western Massachusetts’ academic medical center and level 1 trauma center. Our dietitians support both adult and pediatric care within inpatient and outpatient settings.

Responsibilities include conducting clinical assessments, developing nutrition plans, delivering therapeutic diet education, and collaborating with physicians and the care team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree - Food & Nutrition, Dietetics, Human Nutrition or related field; completion of accredited DPD program
• Master’s Degree preferred and required for those who became certified RD in 2024 or thereafter
• 1 year of work experience in a pertinent area of clinical nutrition or proven competency after successful onboarding to meet level 2 practice

Responsabilités

• Demonstrates organizational skills for safe delivery of standard of care
• Conducts accurate age-appropriate clinical assessments and documents per policy
• Develops patient/family centered care plans with interdisciplinary team
• Provides therapeutic diet education using Motivational Interviewing and Teach Back
• Manages parenteral nutrition under supervision and in collaboration with physicians
• Manages tube feedings under supervision and in collaboration with physicians
• Respects patient/family dignity and privacy in all interactions
• Exercises independent order writing privilege for inpatient care
• Assists with nutrition discharge planning and referrals
• Adheres to professional code of ethics
• Other duties as required
