Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care Inpatient Services seeks a dedicated team member to provide safe dialysis care under RN supervision in the Montgomery, AL dialysis suite. You will assist with machine setup, monitoring, documentation, and post-treatment tasks as part of a coordinated care team.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, vitals, incident reporting, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives to support patient outcomes and satisfaction within a hospital-based dialysis program.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under the direct supervision of the Hemodialysis RN for assigned patients in the dialysis suite.
• Reports and documents new incidents, information, complaints, or problems to the RN.
• Maintains a safe, clean working environment and participates in quality improvement activities.
• Sets up and primes equipment as directed by the Fresenius nurse for renal replacement therapies.
• Ensures dialysis machines are set up, tested, and safe for treatment per policy and manufacturer instructions.
• Welcomes patients and checks on their well being since last treatment, reporting concerns to the RN.
• Records vital signs and weights before and after treatment and alerts RN to any anomalies.
• Documents all treatment information in EMS/ACES per policy.
• Calculates and enters machine programming parameters for UF, treatment time, and Na modeling as prescribed.
• Ensures safety alarms are enabled (NVL 160) and monitors for adverse events.
• Collects, labels, and delivers specimens to the laboratory as required.
• Evaluates intradialytic problems and reports findings to the RN and physician as directed.
• Assists with discontinuation of treatment and post-treatment assessments.
