Job summary

Provide direct care of patients under the supervision of the Clinical Director. Provide counseling for individuals, groups and families; provides case management services; performs addiction assessments; coordinates discharge planning; maintains appropriate documentation in patient records; conducts searches of patients’ belongings, collects specimens for and interprets drug screens, conducts searches of patient rooms and belongings as needed; assists other staff in milieu management. Adheres to accepted ethical and behavioral standards of conduct and continuing professional development.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology or mental health field, minimum. Masters degree in counseling, social work, behavioral medicine preferred.

Required Length and Type of Experience

• Two years experience in an inpatient, addiction treatment setting preferred.

Required Licensure or Certification

• Licensed in addiction counseling, counseling, social work.

Required Physical and Environmental Demands

• Requires that an individual be able to work under periods of high stress and in a consistently fast-paced environment.
• Stretching, bending, lifting, extensive walking throughout hospital grounds and/or buildings, repetitive hand motion, sitting, standing and spending considerable amount of time sitting at a desk or computer terminal.
