What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform second-level coder reviews on accounts returned from audits and coding editors
- Provide education and guidance to coders based on second-level reviews
- Assist the coding manager and department with inquiries and coding reviews, coding inpatient accounts as needed
- Monitor and assist with DNFC management to meet departmental goals
- Attend coding education sessions and maintain relevant coding credentials
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 3-5 years of acute hospital coding experience
- Associates Degree in Health Information Management
- RHIT or CCS certification
- Skilled and working knowledge of MS Office suite
- Ability to analyze coding-related reports and take appropriate action
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 5+ years of experience in a large, complex, multi-system acute care hospital organization
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management
- RHIA and CCS certification
