What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
  • Perform second-level coder reviews on accounts returned from audits and coding editors
  • Provide education and guidance to coders based on second-level reviews
  • Assist the coding manager and department with inquiries and coding reviews, coding inpatient accounts as needed
  • Monitor and assist with DNFC management to meet departmental goals
  • Attend coding education sessions and maintain relevant coding credentials
What is Required (Qualifications):
  • 3-5 years of acute hospital coding experience
  • Associates Degree in Health Information Management
  • RHIT or CCS certification
  • Skilled and working knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Ability to analyze coding-related reports and take appropriate action
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
  • 5+ years of experience in a large, complex, multi-system acute care hospital organization
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management
  • RHIA and CCS certification
