Inpatient Corporate Coding Coordinator (Remote based in US)

Position Overview: Under supervision and guided by Official Coding Guidelines, the Inpatient Corporate Coding Coordinator codes inpatient diagnoses and procedures according to ICD-10-CM/PCS. Responsibilities include assisting with second-level coding reviews, educating coders, and supporting the coding department with queries and reviews.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform second-level reviews on inpatient accounts from Revint, Iodine, audits, and coding/billing editors.
  • Provide education and guidance to coders on correct coding practices based on reviews.
  • Assist the coding manager and team with coding questions, reviews, and coding inpatient accounts as needed.
  • Monitor and support DNFC management to meet departmental goals.
  • Participate in Tenet coding education programs and maintain coding credentials.
Minimum Requirements
  • 3-5 years of acute hospital coding experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.
  • Ability to analyze coding reports and implement actions.
  • Associates Degree in Health Information Management.
  • RHIT or CCS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Over 5 years of experience in large, complex, multi-system acute care hospitals.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management.
  • RHIA and CCS certifications.
Additional Information

A pre-employment coding proficiency assessment will be conducted.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Hourly pay ranges from $27.70 to $44.30, based on location, qualifications, and experience.
  • Potential signing bonus for qualified new hires.
  • Paid holidays at time and a half.
