Job summary

Southeast Health in Alabama seeks a registered hospital coder (RHIA/RHIT/CCS) with at least five years of hospital coding experience, including Medicare inpatients and DRG regulations, to join our team.

The role is a day shift with a $6,000 sign-on bonus, and requires excellent oral and written communication skills and solid PC proficiency.

We are a not-for-profit system dedicated to patient care, education, and community well-being, with about 3,000 team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
• Minimum of five years’ experience in hospital coding, including Medicare inpatients with demonstrated knowledge of diagnosis-related group (DRG) regulations, as evidenced by a score of at least 90% on a coding test or six months of DRG coding with proven accuracy.

LANGUAGE/ COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
