A leading technology services provider is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder for a fully remote position. The role requires proficiency in EPIC EMR and 3M encoder systems, with responsibilities including coding clinical services, defending audits, and supporting various healthcare facilities. Candidates should possess skills in inpatient coding and have experience in academic hospitals and trauma cases. The position offers a pay range of $30 - $41 per hour, along with various benefits.
Candidates must reside in one of the following states to be considered: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, or Wisconsin.
Candidates will be required to take and pass an IP coding assessment. Access to an encoder is necessary to complete the assessment.
The Inpatient Medical Coder is responsible for accurately coding clinical services provided by physicians for insurance purposes, defending their audits, and writing queries to obtain additional information from physicians. This role requires proficiency in using EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and 3M encoder systems. Candidates must be adaptable to support various hospitals within regional and university facilities.

Experience in academic hospitals handling high acuity cases and trauma situations is required. Candidates should have experience in rehabilitation and long-term acute care (LTAC) settings, as well as inpatient audit experience. Trauma centers are classified into five levels, and the candidate should be familiar with these designations.
Intermediate Level
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $41.00/hr.
