Job summary

MemorialCare’s Inpatient Satellite Pharmacy is seeking an Inpatient Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to enhance patient outcomes through rational drug therapy, education and research. The role includes medication information, reconciliation, and collaboration with healthcare teams.

The pharmacist will supervise technicians, support pharmacy operations, and contribute to ongoing professional development within a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in an inpatient hospital pharmacy with clinical exposure.
• Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and prioritize a diverse workload.
• Proficient in common pharmacy software and typing at least 30 words per minute.
• Working knowledge of pharmacokinetic principles.

Responsibilities

• Improve therapeutic outcomes through safe, rational and cost-effective pharmaceutical care.
• Provide drug information to physicians, nurses and patients to improve safety and effectiveness of medications.
• Assist with medication reconciliation and patient counseling; identify safety issues.
• Educate patients and families to improve medication adherence as required.
• Lead or participate in teaching pharmacy students and residents as needed.
