Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA is hiring a Full-time Clinical Pharmacist Specialist for the Inpatient Pharmacy Internal Medicine specialty. This role delivers comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients and leads clinical initiatives.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Pharmacy, Virginia license, 3 years hospital experience, BLS, and a preference for PharmD and ACLS. Day shifts with weekend rotation are included.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy is required.
Doctorate in Pharmacy is preferred.
Virginia Pharmacist License is required.
BLS is required; ACLS is preferred.

Responsibilities

Manages patient drug therapy per clinical standards.
Ensures appropriateness of provider orders for safety.
Maintains advanced knowledge of meds and disease states.
Serves as primary drug information resource and educator.
Provides in-depth patient counseling when needed.
Supports training of new employees and materials.
Leads local and system implementation of initiatives.
Precepts students/residents and provides peer coaching.
