Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a per diem Pharmacist to join the South campus pharmacy team in Brockton, MA. The role ensures timely and accurate administration of medications and IV solutions, under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, while supervising technicians and interns.

Responsibilities include evaluating therapeutic rationales, following clinical protocols, and educating staff on procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an Accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Hospital experience including Unit Dose and IV Additives.
• Current Massachusetts Pharmacy License by the hire date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate therapeutic rationale of medication orders and educate staff as needed.
• Follow clinical pharmacy protocols and participate in performance improvement.
• Ensure timely medication administration and IV solution handling.
• Verify all aspects of medication orders and compliance with AMAR policy.
• Educate medical, nursing, and pharmacy staff on new information in a timely manner.
• Familiar with pharmacy, nursing and house-wide policies to optimize therapy.
• Distribute and monitor accurate medication administration and IV delivery.
• Monitor physician orders receipt, processing, and delivery of meds.
• Check medications for hourly distribution rounds.
• Operate Pyxis MedStation and Pharmacy console, troubleshoot issues as needed.
