Job summary
Veterans Health Administration's Memphis VAMC seeks a Clinical Staff Pharmacist to provide comprehensive patient care across inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory care settings in Memphis, Tennessee.
The role emphasizes pharmacology, pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutics, including dispensing, drug monitoring, counseling and collaboration with the healthcare team. Eligible for Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) with potential loan repayment; full-time with rotating shifts.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
- Advanced knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.
- Experience in clinical pharmacy care and medication management.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care across inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory care.
- Dispense medications and ensure accurate documentation and quality control.
- Counsel patients and families on medication use, side effects and adherence.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other health professionals on medication management.
- Conduct drug utilization reviews and monitoring to optimize therapy according to policy and standards.
- Assist in staff education, training and supervision of newer pharmacy staff.
