Job summary

Requirements include a bachelor's in food and nutrition or related field, completion of a dietetic internship, and licensure within Alaska (Dietitian or Nutritionist) with RD credential. Department: 1017 AK PAMC NUTRITION SVCS; Pay range posted as $33.63 - $52.22 per hour; on-site work in Anchorage.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in food and nutrition or related field.
Successful completion of a dietetic internship program.
Continuing education to maintain registered status per CDR policies.
Within 6 months of hire: Alaska Dietitian License.
Within 6 months of hire: Alaska Nutritionist License.
Upon hire: National CDR Registered Dietitian (RD).

Responsibilities

Assess medical nutrition therapy needs based on diagnosis, labs, anthropometrics, medications, age-specific needs and comorbidities.
Develop and manage an individualized, interdisciplinary care plan to achieve nutrition goals.
Counsel and educate patients and families on medical nutrition therapy principles when appropriate.
Refer to other health care team members to optimize outpatient care and follow-up.
Act as an advocate for nutrition care for acutely ill adults and pediatric inpatients; participate as a consultant to medical staff and preceptor to students.
