Job summary

Wheeling Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Dietitian to provide comprehensive medical nutrition therapy across infant to geriatric patients within a hospital setting.

You will document care, complete physician orders, and collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to optimize nutrition therapy and ensure safety. Requirements include RD/RDN certification, state licensure (WV, OH, MD as applicable), and a background check.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) through the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR).
• Must possess current licensure as required by state boards where services will be provided: WV, OH, and MD as applicable.
• State criminal background check and Federal checks as required for regulated areas.
• One year of clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive high quality medical nutrition therapy to patients of all ages.
• Complete physician ordered consults and document in the medical record; contact physicians as needed.
• Document NPO/Clear Liquid notes and calorie counts; follow-up with nutrition recommendations.
• Calculate and report nitrogen balance and metabolic cart study results in a timely manner.
• Develop and document nutrition assessments for high-risk patients and collaborate with the care team.
• Supervise and guide nutrition therapy staff when applicable and participate in training/education.
• Work with physicians and nursing staff to optimize medical nutrition therapy and prevent drug-nutrient interactions.
