Job summary

Edward Elmhurst Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Inpatient General Medical/Surgical Unit at Elmhurst Main Hospital, IL. This part-time role covers 24 hours per week with three 12-hour shifts, 7am–7:30pm, and every 3rd weekend rotation.

CPR certification is required; prior CNA experience or clinical rotation is preferred. The role emphasizes patient comfort, safety, teamwork, and following RN directions within established procedures.

Qualifications

• Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association.
• Minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent.
• Nursing assistant training completion or nursing clinical rotation.
• Care Companion Course completion within six months if required.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with patient care tasks to support comfort and safety.
• Perform established patient care procedures per policy.
• Prioritize tasks and coordinate with the care team.
• Receive and follow directions from clinical supervisors.
