Job summary

AdventHealth Sebring is seeking a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to provide specialized cardiovascular care in collaboration with cardiologists and a multidisciplinary team. This role includes outpatient and inpatient management and procedural follow-up.

You will perform comprehensive assessments, initiate orders, and develop individualized care plans while coordinating with physicians and staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Requires Master's of Nursing and APRN licensure; ACLS and BLS certifications preferred.
• 1+ year of related cardiology or advanced practice exp.
• Ability to apply evidence-based practice and participate in care planning.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Initiate orders for medications and tests within scope and policy.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions across organ systems.
• Develop and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and health management.
• Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Participate in rounds, care conferences, and quality improvement activities.
• Document encounters, procedures, and care plans accurately.

Job Description Summary:

The Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (APRN) provides specialized cardiovascular care in collaboration with cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams. This role supports patients across the care continuum, including outpatient management, inpatient care, and procedural follow-up.

Job Description:

• Conducts comprehensive health assessments, including physical examinations, patient histories, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
• Initiates orders for medications, laboratory studies, diagnostic testing, and treatments within scope of practice and organizational policy.
• Identifies alterations in patient health status and implements appropriate nursing and medical interventions.
• Diagnoses and manages acute and chronic health conditions across organ systems.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized plans of care, considering age‑specific needs.
• Provides patient and family education, counseling, and support regarding treatment plans and health management.
• Coordinates patient care in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Facilitates efficient and effective patient flow, including appropriate utilization of resources and discharge planning.
• Participates in interdisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and care planning activities.
• Ensures accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters, procedures, and care plans in accordance with policy.
• Responds to urgent or emergent patient needs and participates in on‑call responsibilities as scheduled.
• Participates in quality improvement activities, including data collection, outcome analysis, and process evaluation.
• Incorporates evidence‑based practice to enhance clinical outcomes and support program development.
• Engages in professional development activities and represents the organization in appropriate community or educational events.
• Performs other duties as assigned
