UI Health in Chicago, IL is hiring a full-time Behavioral Interventionist for the Adult Psychiatry Inpatient Unit. The role works under an RN, delivering patient care within the Relationship-Based Care model and supporting leadership, evidence-based practice, and Magnet’s care models.

The position performs routine health measurements, assists with de-escalation and therapeutic activities, and participates in care conferences and training programs.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree with 18 semester hours in one or more of the behavioral sciences (i.e. psychology, sociology, anthropology, criminal justice, political science, etc. or a closely related field).
• OR four (4) years (48 months) of direct patient care experience in a psychiatric or mental health care setting.

Responsabilidades

• Provides care for patients with mental illness, emotional conditions, and/or developmental disabilities.
• Develops and maintains therapeutic alliances with patients and families; facilitates individual or group activities.
• Plans therapeutic outings and assists patients with daily living activities; accompanies patients to tests and outings when necessary.
• Monitors patients’ physical and emotional well-being and reports findings to the nursing/medical staff.
