Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital DeRidder is seeking a compassionate CNA to support adults and seniors with anxiety, depression and other mental health needs. You will assist with basic care tasks under licensed nursing supervision, document observations, and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily living activities, and applying de-escalation techniques.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; CNA preferred.
• Current CNA certification required.
• Must complete Basic Life Support (BLS) and Oceans-approved de-escalation program.

Responsibilities

• Monitor unit rules and ensure compliance.
• Apply de-escalation and therapeutic interventions as needed.
• Assist with vital signs, weights, ADLs, nutrition monitoring; report findings to nurse.
• Assist patients with laundry, meals, mobility and personal belongings.
• Document observations accurately and communicate outcomes to nursing staff.
