Job summary

Cayuga Health is seeking a Director of Behavioral Services to oversee the inpatient behavioral health unit, ensuring high-quality patient care, safety, and regulatory compliance. This role collaborates with medical staff, nurses, social workers, therapists and other personnel to deliver effective treatment programs.

The Director will lead clinical and administrative operations, manage resources, and contribute to performance improvement initiatives within Cayuga Health System.

Qualifications

• Certification in psychiatry, or applicable field, preferred.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience in an acute mental health setting preferred.
• Master's degree preferred (MSN, MBA, MHA, or leadership focused).
• BSN or LMSW in the State of New York.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inpatient behavioral health unit operations and supervision.
• Prepare and manage the budget; identify opportunities for financial savings and revenue enhancement.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate departmental policies, procedures, and programs.
• Educate staff and providers on department policies and procedures.
• Provide administrative and clinical supervision for all staff; evaluate performance.
• Monitor patient care outcomes and drive continuous improvement; ensure accreditation compliance.
