Job summary

Mental Health Resource Center, Inc. is seeking Behavioral Health Assistants to provide competency-based direct care in inpatient behavioral health units. The role supports a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients admitted under the Florida Baker Act, with typical stays of 3–5 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA/EMT/PMD certification preferred.
• One year of direct patient care experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Monitors behaviors and documents observed behaviors in patient records.
• Provides ongoing attention and interaction to establish supportive relationships and help patients achieve outcomes.
• Assists patients with ADLs and personal hygiene as appropriate.
• Ensures daily schedule is followed to meet patient needs and interests.
• Performs 15-minute safety checks on patients.
• Supervises patients during breaks and visitation periods.
• Keeps informed of admission/discharge status and treatment plans.
• Performs and documents vital signs under RN supervision.
