Job summary

Covington Behavioral Health Hospital in Covington, LA is seeking full-time Registered Nurses for Day shifts to work with adolescent patients aged 5-11 in an inpatient unit. We offer a flexible scheduling model, sign-on bonuses, and comprehensive benefits.

Sign-on bonuses include $10k for days and $15k for nights, plus tuition reimbursement. Duties include assessments, care planning, medication administration, documentation, and collaboration with the treatment team.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse license as required by state of employment
• One year of nursing experience; psychiatric/behavioral or substance use nursing a plus
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available on hire)
• First aid may be required depending on state/facility requirements

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical and behavioral health needs and coordinate care.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families.
• Ensure orders are legible and transcribed correctly per policy.
• Assess patient status continuously and document pertinent information.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in status or emergencies.
• Complete admission and discharge processing accurately.
• Demonstrate therapeutic rapport while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Provide guidance to the unit and coordinate activities as directed.
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and inpatient treatment teams
