Georgia Gwinnett College invites applications for a 10-month, full-time Assistant Professor in Secondary Education with an anticipated August 1, 2027 start. The position includes teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising field experiences, mentoring teacher candidates, and contributing to program evaluation and service.

Required: PhD or EdD in Curriculum and Instruction or related field, 3+ years teaching in middle or high school settings, and a record of high-quality teaching,

Qualifications

• PhD or EdD in Curriculum and Instruction, Teacher Education, or related field.
• 3+ years teaching experience in middle or high school settings.
• Ability to teach day, evening, and weekend courses.
• Demonstrated, or potential, record of high-quality teaching, service, and research.
• Evidence of effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to mentor students and supervise field experiences.
• Coordinate, supervise, and mentor students in field experiences.

Responsibilities

• Teach general pedagogy courses for secondary education students and supervise field experiences across certification pathways.
• Support pre-service teachers in developing into curriculum specialists and leaders.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with school-based partners.
• Lead or contribute to program innovation and assessment.
• Engage in scholarship and service commitments along with committee work.
• Demonstrate commitment to undergraduate education, student engagement, and community service.
