Job summary

Prysmian Group in Lincoln, RI is seeking a hands-on Rubber Materials Chemist/Engineer to lead formulation development for high-performance cables. Reporting to Product Development Manager, you will advance materials technology, drive NPD, and support manufacturing scale-up.

You will collaborate with internal teams and customers to tailor rubber compounds for durability, flexibility, electrical performance, and manufacturability, staying at the forefront of elastomer science.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer/Materials Science, Chemistry.
• 3+ years of experience in rubber compounding or elastomer development.
• Strong knowledge of rubber formulation, additives, curing systems.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams in manufacturing or product development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize rubber and elastomeric compounds for advanced applications.
• Lead new product development initiatives from requirements to commercialization.
• Plan and execute laboratory experiments and pilot-scale validations.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams to launch new products.
• Develop technical documentation and specifications for scale-up.
