Job summary

Sealed Air in Streetsboro, Ohio, is seeking a highly motivated Controls Engineering Manager to lead our R&D Systems Engineering group. You will manage the Electrical Engineering team responsible for control hardware and software for our automated packaging systems, guiding concept through manufacturing release and ensuring agency approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 8+ years Electrical Engineering with leadership, people management, and PM responsibilities.
• Proficiency with PLCs and related automation controls software (ControlLogix, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP).
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to drive results, manage priorities, and lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing R&D Electrical Engineering team across electrical, automation, and controls disciplines.
• Provide technical leadership for design, development, validation, and implementation of electrical and control systems.
• Define project scope, priorities, resource plans, and timelines for successful execution.
• Make sound decisions and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Identify and develop talent through recruitment and succession planning.
• Ensure adherence to engineering standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation to enhance product quality and performance.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to ~20%.
