Carney, Sandoe & Associates is seeking Physics Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year in the Boston area. Independent schools in the region will host the positions.

The role requires a bachelor’s in physics or science education, prior teaching experience, and the ability to design hands-on experiments while using modern lab equipment. AP/IB experience is a plus, and collaboration with faculty is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physics, Science Education, or related field.
• Prior teaching experience in physics at middle/high school or private/independent setting preferred.
• Hands-on experiments and lab work experience required.
• AP/IB physics experience a plus.
• Strong understanding of physics concepts and safety in the lab.
• Clear, engaging instruction and solid classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging physics lessons for varied levels.
• Use diverse teaching methods: lectures, demos, hands-on activities, experiments.
• Prepare lesson plans, materials, and assessments aligned to curriculum.
• Foster a positive learning environment that promotes curiosity and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with faculty to refine curriculum and meet school goals.
• Maintain orderly classroom and address student behavior.
• Encourage group work and individual tasks.
• Provide timely feedback and progress updates to students.
• Offer extra help during office hours or tutoring sessions.
• Advise students on college and career pathways in science.
